Last year that adorable kid-sized felt Christmas tree was flying all over Pinterest. We made one and it was super awesome. This year I wanted to try something different. Inspired by Twodaloo's adorable (small and three dimensional) Sticky Christmas Tree craft, I decided to make a giant kid-sized sticky tree. I wanted to be sure that we could decorate and redecorate....and redecorate our Sticky Tree just like the felt Christmas tree from the previous year - so I designed ornaments that are reusable and re-stickable (is that a term?)!

So first thing's first. You're gonna need some contact paper. You could use clear, but ohmygoodness they make green. I am sure I was probably at least 10 times more excited than every other person who'd previously found this listing for this fabulous Green Contact Paper
on Amazon. You will need one roll to make a giant tree like we did. Measure out a length of paper (I measured against my kids) and then cut a second piece of matching length. Lay the two pieces such that the printed white grid is facing down and tape a strip of tape to connect the two. I used Scotch Tape. Any clear tape will work.

Next fold it in half like this and draw half of a Christmas tree. Then you can cut along your pattern with scissors.
Slowly peel the white gridded paper off. Use tape of some sort (I used Scotch Tape but masking tape or painter's tape would also work) to mount your tree sticky side out to a wall or window. (If you have a window big enough, my vote is for window. When the light catches it just right, it almost glows!) If you have a kiddo nearby, have them cut a trunk for your tree out of a brown Foam Sheet. You can use tape to stick the brown foam trunk to the window or wall.

from Amazon and it worked perfectly - it had every color we wanted (AKA all of them). Then it's time to decorate.

And decorate again!
And then let mom have a turn because it's still fun to play with even when you're 33.
Foam is super sturdy and it comes off and goes on contact paper VERY easily. This is perfection for little X who feels gilted by the permanence of stickers. He really likes to have the choice to stick and unstick things multiple times.
Even little ones dig getting in on the sticky tree decorating action.
And what's more - those blank foam ornaments can be decked out. You can glue foam, sequins, glitter, stickers, or you can draw on them with markers. The sky is the limit.
So there you have it. A super fun tree that the kiddos can decorate and redecorate throughout the holiday season!
